Did you know that there are certain nutrients that will help support your adrenal glands? Below are 5 nutrients that support adrenal health and sources in the diet.

  1. Vitamin C –supports the general health and function of the adrenals

Sources: citrus fruits, bell peppers, broccoli, cantaloupe and kiwi

  1. B Vitamins – supplies energy to the adrenal cells and assists in the production of adrenal hormones

Sources: leafy greens, pasture-raised eggs, organ meats especially liver and nutritional yeast

  1. Healthy fats – important for adrenal hormone production and to decrease inflammation

Sources: avocadoes, nuts like almonds and walnuts, fatty fish like salmon and sardines, chia seeds and flax seeds.

  1.   Magnesium – helps regulate cortisol production and helps keep the adrenal cells working smoothly.

Sources: bananas, leafy greens, beans & legumes, nuts and seeds especially pumpkin seeds and almonds and dark chocolate (in moderation)
